Three people were killed and a further eight wounded during armed clashes between tribes in Mount Naoussa, west Libya on Saturday night.
Three members of the south brigade in charge of maintaining security in the region were killed when conflict arose between two of the areas tribes over territory.
A security source said the brigade members were killed by an armed group and one person was wounded from Kontrat tribe and two others from the tribe of Al Mashasheya.
The on-going conflict between the two tribes turned violent following the toppling of the former regime in 2011.
Meanwhile a statement issued by the joint security forces in Benghazi on Saturday night, said a group of masked gunmen attacked the headquarters of Libyan army camps in the city. Six soldiers were killed and five others wounded during the assault. The assailants have been arrested.
