Egyptian security officials from the North Sinai governorate have arrested two Sudanese citizens on the Egypt-Israel border, as they attempted to illegally cross into Israeli territory.
The Sudanese citizens were captured during a routine border patrol check by security forces in the Atif al-Sadat area. A security source said that the detained individuals were not carrying the required documentation at the time of their arrest.
The source added that during preliminary investigations, the immigrants had admitted to plotting a route into Israel, through Egypt, to find jobs.
