Palestinian medical sources have announced two workers are now missing, with four others injured, after a tunnel collapsed in the Salam neighbourhood in southern Rafah. Searches for the missing men are underway, after a tunnel linking Egyptian territories with Rafah collapsed on Monday. Another Palestinian man died, with one man injured, last week after another tunnel gave way in Salam. In total, 230 Palestinians have died in tunnel accidents between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. The underground thoroughfares are used to smuggle commodities and food into the coastal region, following an Israeli blockade which began in 2007.
