As many as 156 Egyptians have returned home from Libya via Salloum crossing along the border between Egypt and Libya over the past 24 hours, Matrouh security chief Anani Hamouda said Tuesday.
As many as 36 of the returnees had traveled illegally to Libya.
Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi's regime in 2011.
