A total of 13 airstrikes were launched by the US-led coalition on Daesh targets in Syria and Iraq between 8:00 a.m. on Friday, and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, local time. In Syria, attack, fighter and drone aircraft conducted four airstrikes near Al Raqqah, where they "struck an Daesh bulldozer, an Daesh tank and destroyed eight Daesh tanks and three Daesh bunkers," the Combined Joint Task Force for Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in a statement on Sunday.
Meanwhile, nine airstrikes were carried out in Iraq, also using attack, fighter and drone aircraft.
Near Bayji, "two airstrikes struck two ISIL tactical units, an ISIL rocket system and destroyed an ISIL building," the statement said. Near Hit, one airstrike "struck an Daesh IED assembly factory," while near Mosul, "two airstrikes struck an Daesh tactical unit and destroyed two Daesh fighting positions and an Daesh armored excavator," the statement added.
Near Sinjar, one airstrike "struck an Daesh tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL building," while near Taji, "two airstrikes struck two Daesh tactical units," CJTF-OIR said. Finally, near Tal Afar, one airstrike "struck an Daesh tactical unit and destroyed an Daesh building." It was not revealed which of the partner nations participated in this round of strikes.
