Civil Defence Directorate personnel early Monday evacuated around 120 Syrian refugees living in Zaatari camp after Torrential rains flooded their tents,official source said.
According to the director of civil defense in al-Maraq Colonel Naif Al Mafraq Nawayseh,refugees have been evacuated to a safer alternative location,while authorities started removing the water out of their tents.No injuries were reported,Nawayseh added.
The director of Zaatari camp Colonel Zaher Abu Shehab said that 15 Syrian families were evacuated after heavy rainfall engulfed their tents and damaged them.
“Refugees were evacuated to international aid agencies tents provided with heat , blankets and food supplies”,he added.
Syrian refugee camps administration in Jordan is now working on installing seven security surveillance cameras to cover the rest of the camp,so as to enable the security forces to fully control the camp to ensure the safety and security of the refugees.
