At least 11 soldiers of the Libyan army have been killed in an ambush by militants of the Mujahideen Shura Council (MSC) in Derna at the western entrance to the city.

The death toll from the attack that occurred late Sunday is apt to increase, a military source said.

Seven MSC militants, including leader Hassan al Harir, were, meanwhile, killed in clashes with military troops on Ain Mara corridor.
