A Palestinian was killed and another wounded after the collapse of a tunnel in al-Salam neighbourhood in Rafah, southern Gaza, on Sunday evening. An officer in the Civil Defence, Khaled al-Ajrami confirmed that a 33-year old man died in the incident, while another young man was rescued and taken to Abu Yousef al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah. According to human rights organisations, 232 people have been killed in Gazan tunnels since 2006, including 20 killed by Israeli shelling of tunnels and 9 children. There have been 597 tunnel-related injuries during this period.
