A conference was held at the Arab League premises on Sunday for the launch of the 2013 regional report of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS for the Middle East and North Africa region. Addressing the gathering held on the occasion of the World AIDS Day, Egyptian Health Minister Maha el-Rebat said the report will contribute to setting regional strategies on the disease, whose patients are suffering from discrimination and stigma in the region. For his part, Arab League chief Nabil el-Araby said the time was ripe for reducing the number of HIV/AIDS infections in the Arab world.
