The UAE\'s health sector is expecting a notable turnout of scientific minds to take part in the 5th Pan-Arab Human Genetics Conference and Golden Helix Symposium 2013, being organised by the Centre for Arab Genomic Studies (CAGS) in Dubai from 17th to 19th November. Dr. Mahmoud Taleb Al Ali, Director of the Centre for Arab Genomic Studies and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, said that the UAE\'s presentation of nine lectures would contribute to highlighting the country\'s rich experience in the field of genomic studies. He said, \"The UAE was one of the first Arab countries to realise the possible dangers of genetic diseases, therefore, it issued legislations and protocols to combat the spread of diseases nationwide. Dr. Mohammed stated that these lectures come as part of the rich programme of conference events, which include 54 scientific lectures, in the presence of over 500 doctors, scientists and researchers from Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Tunisia, Palestine, Germany, the UK, Greece, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, the United States and China.
