Excessive pool-cleaning chemicals leaked into a public swimming pool in Indianapolis, sickening more than 80 people, officials said. The victims were taken to hospitals Thursday. Most were treated and released and some were kept overnight for observation, officials said. The chemical -- ACID Magic -- entered the Garfield Park pool at too strong a dilution when pool staffers restarted a machine used to monitor chemical levels, The Indianapolis Star reported. Parents and pool lifeguards became aware of the chemical leak when children in the pool began coughing and vomiting and noxious fumes came from the water, officials said. \"The lifeguard was running around yelling at everybody: \'Get out of the pool! Get out of the pool!\' \" said Jamie Rahmany, who was in a baby pool with her son. \"I didn\'t know what was going on.\" First-responders set up a triage unit at the pool and two buses transferred people to hospitals.
