Oman\'s Health Ministry announced on Monday that it has not yet recorded any cases of the fatal coronavirus in the country. The ministry said it is ready to handle possible cases as the specialists are following up on the latest developments of the virus spread around the clock, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international health institutions. The number of confirmed cases worldwide has yet reached 79,42 of which were death ones. The ministry stressed its keenness on being transparent when dealing with all means of media to exchange information and developments on the disease, also known as Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). The sultanate has taken all necessary precautions in the event of a critical situation as laboratory results were provided to the ministry\'s laboratories, which are accredited internationally, the statement added. The ministry is applying all the set procedures and regulations of the WHO and international health institutions. The health ministry of Oman called on people to take preventive measures such as avoiding crowded places, washing hands constantly, as well as staying away from people that show symptoms.
