Five new dengue fever patients were reported today in Lahore, capital of Punjab province increasing the number of affected dengue patients during the past few days to 71. The Pakistani Ministry of Health said the  spread in the disease has been linked to the torrential rains and accumulated water in the city over the past few weeks. The number of dengue patients who died in 2011 in the different Pakistani cities was over 300 most of them in the city of Lahore.
