Halfway houses have become an important pillar of any program for rehabilitating and reintegrating drug addicts in Kuwait, Ministry of Interior Assistant Undersecretary for Rehabilitation Institutions Maj Gen Khaled Al-Deyain said Monday. \"The halfway houses have proved very successful and effective in rehabilitating former drug addicts,\" Al-Deyain said. Halfway houses is a term used to identify rehabilitation places where people who have left addiction treatment centers are helped to readjust to the outside world. Al-Deyain called for an expansion in the application of this experiment across the nation to help people who seek to quit drug addiction. He thanked halfway houses directors for their highly-professional work and effective help to former drug addicts.
