Bahrain is beefing up preventive measures to avert a potential outbreak of Coronavirus and Ebola. Health Minister Sadiq bin Abdelkarim Al-Shehabi today inspected preparations at the Bahrain International Airport clinic to deal with any suspected Coronavirus or Ebola cases.
Accompanied by Assistant Undersecretary for Primary Healthcare and Public Health Dr. Mariam Al-Jalahma, the minister was received by Exit Security director-general Colonel Maher Buali, Airport Chief Mohammed Al-Kaabi, Airport Operations Officer Ibrahim Salmaeen and Clinic chief Dr. Nuaid Abdullatif.
The minister was briefed on clinic preparations and equipment to be capable of dealing with any outbreak of such epidemics.
He also inspected a clinic which was set up near the arrival terminal to deal with any suspected cases, especially passengers coming from Ebola-ravaged Sierra Leone, Guinea, Nigeria and Liberia.
Dr. Abdullatif updated the minister on the I-Seha-linked clinic and the medical quarantine ward where suspected cases will be isolated.
The minister met an airport woman employee who was treated at the clinic from sickle cell anemia, as well as the medical staff who are working with great dedication and professionalism to prevent any outbreak of the infectious diseases.
