A cooperation agreement has been signed Wednesday at the Ministry of Health between the Algerian government and the World Health Organization (WHO). The agreement, which provides for increasing WHO representation in Algeria, was inked by Chief of Protocol at Foreign Ministry Fouad Bouattoura and the WHO Regional Director for Africa Luis Gomes Sambo, in presence of Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Abdelaziz Ziari. The agreement aims at developing cooperation mechanisms between the two parties. WHO representative expressed satisfaction at the signing of the agreement between Algerian government and the WHO. He underlined the organization’s role in contributing to improving access of peoples around the world to better health care. It is Sambo’s third visit to Algeria after that paid in 2007 and 2008 on the occasion of the regional conference of African countries.
