Nearly five percent of Algerian old people are affected by Alzheimer, the most common neurodegenerative disease in Algeria, Dr. Mohamed Mihoubi, president of the association of people with Alzheimer, said Sunday in Algiers. "The Alzheimer is increasingly spreading in Algeria, as no less than five percent of old people are suffering from this neurological disease," Mihoubi pointed out at a study day. Affecting mainly people above 65 years old, the characteristic features of the disease is loss of memory and decline in intellectual abilities.
