Minister Abdel Mon'em el Bana

Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Abdel Mon'em el Bana stressed Tuesday that the Egyptian government is keen on providing a suitable investment climate in Egypt.

The Egyptian government is also eager to create further opportunities to lure local and foreign investments from both public and private sectors with the aim of achieving sustainable development and providing more job opportunities for the youth, Bana noted.

Bana made the remarks during the opening session of the International Agriculture Investment Forum held in Egypt in cooperation of the Agriculture Ministry, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the World Bank (WB) under the auspices of the prime minister.

The forum is also attended by Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr and Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati.

Bana pointed out that the political leadership ordered launching a sustainable development strategy to include Egypt’s comprehensive vision 2030 in which Egypt is willing to achieve competitive balanced and diversified economy along with social justice. 

He stressed that agriculture ministry has adopted the sustainable agricultural development strategy 2030, depending on innovation and intensified knowledge.

He referred to the importance of the Ghalyoun fish farming project in Kafr el Shiekh that was launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The project is the largest in the Middle East and greatly contributes to enhancing Egypt’s economy and developing its fisheries
