Alexandria governor Mohamed Sultan

The Egyptian consul general here, Khaled Youssef, has hailed as important talks to activate a sister-city agreement between China's Shanghai and Alexandria in Egypt.
Alexandria governor Mohamed Sultan was here for talks with the mayor of Shanghai and senior Chinese officials on ways to activate the agreement that had been signed in 1992.
The talks also focused on means by which to benefit from Shanghai's expertise, particularly where waste treatment is concerned, Youssef told MENA correspondent Saturday.
They also discussed a monorail project, which is hoped to help contribute to solving the traffic problem in Alexandria, Youssef said.
Figuring high at the talks were also efforts to enhance the flow of Chinese tourists to Egypt, he added.
