Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi

Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah has directed the establishment of ‘Arabic Tongue Council’ in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott to be an educational and scientific incubator for elite of Mauritanian Arab scholars.
Sheikh Sultan’s initiative comes as part of his perpetual efforts of establishing Arabic Language academies and other institutions, which support and promote the Arabic Language.
The new council aims to encourage the use of the classical Arabic in the fields of media, education and culture. It also aims to facilitate Arabic Language rules in addition to exploring the secrets of the Arabic Language, encouraging the teaching of sciences, mathematics and other subjects in Arabic as well as enhancing research, authoring, publishing and innovation in the Arabic Language.
Commenting on His Highness’s initiative, Dr. Mohammed Al Ameen Weld Al Sheikh, the Mauritarian Minister of Culture praised Sheikh Sultan’s initiative pointing to His Highness’ continued support of the Arabic identity and the key components of the Islamic culture.
Mohammed Safi Al Mestghanmi, the Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah underlined the vision of  the Ruler of Sharjah and his support of the Arabic Language with his prudent vision of building the great cultural project based on the principles of Arab and Islamic identity.
The founding committee of the council announced the launch during a ceremony held at the Royal Suites Hotel in Nouakchott, Mauritania, and was attended by a distinguished group of intellectuals, scholars and researchers.
