An Israeli sniper opened fire at a group of young Palestinians.

A 15-year-old Palestinian teenager was killed early Thursday when an Israeli sniper opened fire at a group of young Palestinians near the border fence in the south of the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

Sources at Abu Yousef Najjar hospital in Rafah said Momin Ibrahim Abu Ayyadeh was killed after he was hit in the head by a bullet apparently shot by an Israeli army sniper. Two others were injured moderately.

Protests were reported late Wednesday at different locations on the border fence between Gaza and Israel during which Israeli forces opened fire at the Palestinians who were protesting the 12-year-long Israeli blockade and demanding an end to it.

Medical reports said at least 12 people were shot and wounded during these protests in the central and southern Gaza Strip.
