Cairo - MENA
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) sold $75 million
to banks on Wednesday at its third foreign currency auction, banking
sources said.
The auctions are part of a shift in currency policy announced by the
CBE and designed to conserve the country\'s foreign reserves, which it said
had fallen to a critical level.
The Egyptian pound continued falling against the US dollar on Wednesday
to stand at a record high of EGP 6.422 for selling and EGP 6.38 for
buying.
