Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Naimi

 Minister of Education, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Naimi, considered AGU’s retention of its first position in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the fourth consecutive year in the classification of the QS World University Rankings around the world for the year 2017 as an extension of the University’s outstanding achievements.
This great achievement is a tribute to the developmental steps that have strengthened the university’s status as an innovative regional university, as well as the efficiency of the University’s outstanding management and continued efforts among all the University staff, according to the Minister.
In a letter sent to the President of the University, Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Ohali, the Dr Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi praised the achievements of AGU at the regional and Arab levels in the QS University Rankings, which evaluated 4000 international universities. AGU has ranked sixth among the Gulf universities, and seventh among universities in Arab countries, thanks to the positive academic reputation which has been enforced over the past decades, and meeting all evaluation criteria of QS University Rankings.
The Minister said that this honourable achievement is a natural result of the continuous and constant development and scientific and research efforts taken by the University to promote medical education and higher education as a whole.
This advanced position was achieved by providing an environment conducive to innovation in GCC countries as well as keeping up with the latest developments in e-learning, according to the latest technologies in modern science and successive challenges. This is in addition, to following high standards of quality in education, efficiency of innovative academic programs offered by the University, and taking into consideration the needs of the Gulf market for new and rare fields,” Dr Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi said.
President of AGU valued the Minister’s congratulations, and said that the advancement in the global QS classification is due to the confidence of the GCC countries in the University, which fostered a development strategy that strengthened its status as an innovative university in the Gulf.
“A group of innovative programmes were launched such as a PhD in Innovation Management, which is the first of its kind in the region in cooperation with Boston University, a Master’s degree in Personalised Medicine, MBA in Aviation Industry in cooperation with the Business Aviation French Academy, the academic arm of the giant aircraft manufacturer “Airbus”, in addition to the development of curricula and teaching methods, and shifting to e-learning through the adoption of modern technology, employing creative tools in the Colleges of Medicine & Medical Sciences and Graduate Studies,” he revealed.
