Bahrain to participate in UN Climate Change Conference

On behalf of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Representative to HM the King, President of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today arrived at Marrakesh Menara Airport, Morocco, to chair the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP22). 

His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco will patronize the conference in the presence of their majesties, highnesses, presidents, heads of delegations, as well as a number of regional and international organizations concerned with environmental affairs. 

HM the King's Representative was received at Marrakesh Menara Airport by Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, Bahrain's Ambassador to Morocco, Khalid bin Salman Al-Musallam, members of Bahrain's Embassy and a number of officials.

HM the King's Representative took pride in representing HM the King at the key environmental conference. He expressed appreciation of Morocco's efforts in hosting the event, wishing the conference success in achieving the desired goals. 

He highlighted Bahrain's support for the international invitation to establish the global environmental security with regard to climate change and to take urgent and effective steps to ensure human and the environment rights for future generations. He pointed out Bahrain's commitment to support the UN initiatives and efforts relating to addressing climate change and achieving climate justice.

He noted the giant strides made by the Kingdom of Bahrain in safeguarding the environment and adopting principles of sustainable development under the royal directives. 

HM the King's Representative is leading an official delegation comprising SCE Deputy President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, SCE Executive Director Dr. Mohammed Mubarak bin Dina and a number of officials.
