The summer season gives rise to light and luminous creations. To herald Spring 2012, Thierry Mugler once again causes a stir by redefining the realm of dewy freshness in a creative and innovative way. He recreates his first two iconic fragrances for women with an “original solution treatment” offering these limited editions: The goal of this approach was to create “total freshness” arising not just from the composition of the fragrance, but also from its formulation… Taking inspiration from an age-old extraction process, Angel and Alien Aqua Chic mark a new chapter in the realm of freshness by drawing their lightness from two levels: -        At the Heart of their structure, a “fresh accord”, added to the initial composition, illuminates Angel and Alien with light-as-air notes. -        At the Source of their formulation: The original Eau de Parfum versions of Angel and Alien are composed of 15 to 20% perfume concentrate. They are then diluted with a blend of distilled water and alcohol to achieve the final solution. To transform Angel and Alien into an “Aqua Chic”, levels of water and alcohol were replaced by a hydrosol, derived from distilling some of the raw materials. This innovation is inspired by a traditional extraction method: hydro-distillation. A first in perfumery. To refresh the most glamorous of Mugler’s creations, the perfumer has chosen delicate and tender cornflower water. This water echoes the color that revolutionized the codes of perfumery when Angel was created. It unravels at the heart of the fragrance and blends with pink peppercorn and Calabrian lemon essence. This original combination lightens the voluptuous patchouli-vanilla base and transforms Angel into a fresh, oriental floral fragrance. Angel Aqua Chic envelops the skin in its radiant notes, like a fresh Spring day, and its luxuriant and gourmand accents mirror Angel’s legendary signature.
