Pope Francis on Thursday began his historic speech before the US Congress, addressing hundreds of lawmakers one day after his talks with President Barack Obama at the White House.

This is the first time the leader of the Roman Catholic Church has addressed a joint meeting of Congress. He is expected to address several main themes including climate change, immigration and the death penalty.
