The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold a meeting at the level of permanent representatives of member states at its headquarters in Jeddah on 11th of September 2018, at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss the consolidation of peace and stability in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
The Secretary General of the Organization Dr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen stressed that this meeting is an extension of the great support, initiatives and efforts exerted by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince to preserve peace and stability in the Republic of Afghanistan.
He said that the Kingdom initiated the hosting of the International Conference of Muslim Scholars on the peace and stability in Afghanistan in the cities of Jeddah and Makkah in July 2018, which resulted in" Makkah Declaration ", in order to achieve peace and security and stop the killing of innocents and bloodshedding.
Al-Othaimeen renewed his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who welcomed the scholars participating in Afghanistan Conference and stressed that the Kingdom has lived with the Afghan people in their suffering since the start of the crisis in Afghanistan, provided them with humanitarian assistance and exerted every effort to discard division and differences among the Afghan people.
