Viviane Mourad is a graduate from the Lebanese University with a BA in Agricultural Engineering.  But she is no engineer.  She is a singer with a beautiful soft voice, inherited from her father. Her teachers knew she would become a singer, as her beautiful singing voice has been drawing their attention since high school. The multi-talented artist can sing in 5 languages: Arabic, English, French, Italian and Spanish. She learned all those languages while living in Paris for five years, where she pursued her singing career. Her ambition and determination to succeed are obvious, and she works hard to make her country proud. Two years ago Viviane released her first single titled “Nothing Wrong with Me,” but now she returns back home to release her first album “Beyond Words.” The album is a collection of 10 songs each with a different flavor: Lebanese, Egyptian and Gulf music.  On the album, she collaborates with various poets and composers including Mohammed Rifai, Ehab Abdu, and Ahmed Abdelnabi. Melody Productions was behind the record. The artist said that she put her heart and soul into the album.  A goal of hers was to present herself in a conservative and respectable way to her audience. As expected, a video clip has been recorded for the main single in the album (Beyond Words). The video was directed by Randa Alam, who will also direct a second video for the song “What’s Happened to You”. The filming of the second clip takes place in a casino and the storyline is about a girl (Mourad) who works in a casino. She has a boyfriend who offers her money and prestige, but their relationship is marred by apathy, especially after she meets and falls in love with a man who loves music.  She leaves everything behind for love. Commenting on the idea of the video clip, Viviane said, “At first I was worried about the idea, but eventually I was convinced that it is a way for me to deliver a message.  The casino table is only a symbol representing a stage in life. A person has to choose their path in life. It’s a gamble; it’s a win or lose situation.”  When asked if she has anyone special in her life, she responded, “I wish I was in love right now, but in today’s world, people don’t put genuine emotions and feelings first.”
