Fierce clashes continue in Damascus, Rif Dimashq

Violent clashes between the Syrian army and the armed opposition continued on Sunday in several districts of Damascus and Rif Dimashq. Local residents told MENA correspondent that the confrontations took place on the Damascus ring road which extends from Damascus International Airport to another airport in Eastern Ghouta, adding that several mortar shells landed on residential areas in Damascus. Also, clashes with a group of the armed opposition broke out in Barza Al-Balad in Damascus, leaving several persons dead and injured. In Rif Dimashq, sources said that according to preliminary information, the armyntook control of the ring road that extends from Damascus International Airport till Al-Kufrayn area.
