Forty Syrian government troops were either killed or injured in fierce clashes with opposition forces in Dukhaniya area, outside Damascus, on Sunday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.
The Syrian government did not confirm nor deny the casualties amidst ongoing clashes between the two sides.
SOHR said the clashes were taking place while government warplanes were bombarding positions of armed opposition forces.
The government forces were randomly bombing different areas of Syria killing and wounding citizens.
