According to police officials, a local leader of political party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) was shot dead near Singer Chowrangi in Karachi's Korangi Industrial area. He was targeted while he was on his way home after dropping his children to school, said police. Meanwhile, a person sustained severe injuries due to firing in North Karachi area near Dou Minute Chowrangi and succumbed to his wounds in a hospital. A senior police official, SSP Amir Farooqui confirmed the incident and told that police arrested three suspected target killers allegedly involved in the killings of 12 people, including two police officers, as well as 150 incidents of street crimes. He further told that police has also recovered huge amount of arms from the possession of the arrested suspects.
