
At least three people were killed and thirty others wounded in two separate explosions in southwestern Balochistan province of Pakistan on Saturday, said officials.
A senior police official, Muhammad Anwar confirmed that in the first explosion militants targeted the vehicle of security forces through an improvised explosive device injuring 27 in Seerat Chowk area of Khuzdar district of Balochistan. The second blast occurred in the Jalawan compound that wounded at least three people, he added.
According to police, the vehicle of security forces was slightly damaged and most of the victims were civilians. The condition of the six injured was reported critical. The security forces cordoned off the area and an immediate search operation was launched. Balochistan has been riddled with militants' insurgency, sectarian violence and kidnappings for ransom for over a decade and militants have targeted the government installations and personnel number of times in the area.
