The death toll in the ongoing military operation 'Zarb e Azb' in North Waziristan tribal agency of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan has crossed 470, the military said on Tuesday.
In a media briefing, Chief military spokesman Major General Asim Bajwa said that the Pakistan army will "completely eliminate" terrorists sanctuaries and hideouts from North Waziristan.
He added that 447 terrorists have been killed so far while 26 soldiers lost their lives during the operation, adding that 88 hideouts have been destroyed.
Bajwa said that a ground operation in Mir Ali has started and that militant commander Matiullah was among the killed.
He further said, "North Waziristan had become a hub of terrorism where several terrorist networks were based and had been operating for a long time." He also added that 80 per cent of Miramshah has been cleared by the security forces.
