Blast in Pakistan kills 6, wounds 28

A blast in Peshawar city of northern Pakistan killed six people and wounded 28 on Saturday. The blast struck a mosque in the densely populated Meena Bazar area of the city. It was a remote controlled blast, targetting people who had arrived to attend prayers, said police. A senior police officer in charge of bomb disposal said that the explosive material, weighing around three to four kgs, also contained ball-bearings was planted inside the mosque. The rescue teams shifted the injured people to the nearby Lady Reading hospital. Many among the injured are in critical condition and the death toll is feared to rise.
