Van Damme Volvo spot goes viral

A video featuring actor Jean-Claude Van Damme doing a split atop two trucks made by Swedish manufacturer Volvo has gone viral online, the company said. The ad, which promotes Volvo's new Dynamic Steering capabilities, features the veteran Hollywood action star, shows Van Damme standing atop two trucks driving the same speed in reverse. As the video progresses, the trucks begin to separate and Van Damme slowly goes from standing to a full split, TheLocal.se reported Friday. The video has been viewed more than 15 million times on YouTube. "We've been very pleased by the amazing response," Volvo Trucks spokesman Anders Vilhelmsson said. The advertising feat comes at a beneficial time for the company, which announced Thursday it was cutting some 500 jobs.
