The cast and crew of the new television drama “Urfat Baher” have celebrated the launch of filming the first scenes as well as celebrated the birthday of the drama’s leading actor Nour El Sharif. The celebration featured Nour, his daughter Mai, actress Hala Sidqi and a number of the stars and makers of the drama. Nour expressed his joy at entering the Ramadan drama race, especially at a time when a number of prominent Egyptian stars are starring in different dramas. Among the prominent stars taking part in this year’s race are Adel Emam, Mahmoud Abd Al Aziz, Yahya Al Fakharani, and others. According to the internet website MBC.net, Nour revealed that he plays the role of “Urfah” who is the head of fishermen and is respected by everyone and owns one of the biggest fishing boats. Nour’s character has only daughters and keeps wishing to be granted with a son. The actor noted that the drama is a social one and tackles different issues that are of importance to fishermen and the obstacles they are faced with in their everyday life. On a different note, Nour has expressed his solidarity with prominent Egyptian comedian actor Adel Imam and rejects the court verdict sentencing him to a three month jail sentence for blasphemy of Islam in his different projects.
