Hughes' 'Motor City' filming delayed

Producers said they delayed the shooting of director Albert Hughes' "Motor City" because the March 31 deadline for film delivery could not be met. Production on the film, starring Gerard Butler and Adrien Brody, was scheduled to begin Sept. 17 in Atlanta with a planned release in April through Warner Bros., Variety reported Saturday. A spokeswoman for Foresight Entertainment, one of the companies financing the movie, said production was delayed because of a short post-production schedule and complicated visual and special effects. It would have been impossible to meet the March 31 deadline without compromising the quality of the film, she added. The film focuses on a released felon who tries to track down the men who framed him, Variety reported. "Motor City" is produced by Joel Silver through Dark Castle, Andrew Rona, Ethan Erwin, Randall Emmett and George Furla. In addition to Foresight Entertainment, Emmett/Furla is financing the film.
