Actress Horia Farghali is the new coverstar of monthly English-language magazine Lounge. In its Centennial edition issued in January 2013, she tells the magazine that her biggest dream is to become a mother, although it seems “impossible” because she is struggling to find the right person. Horia explained that the situation in Egypt has made her want to migrate to London (where she grew up) but her mother is insisting the star stays put in Cairo. When asked about the criticism she received due to her participation in the Cairo Film Festival, which was held in parallel with the anniversary of the Mohamed Mahmoud events close to the Opera House where the festival took place, she said “every Egyptian is defending his homeland by his own means.” She explained that her participation in the festival was, in fact, serving the interests of Egypt as the festival was postponed last year due to lack of security and canceling it again would threaten Cairo’s position on the international festivals scene Farghali asked her audience to watch out for her very first leading role in the new romantic comedy My Aunt’s Theory. The movie also stars Hassan Raddad and was written by satirical scriptwriter Omar Taher. Farghali’s new series The Avenger is currently airing on MBC Misr.
