Ellen DeGeneres pays $40m for new LA home

US television host Ellen DeGeneres paid nearly $40 million for a six-bedroom house in Los Angeles that includes a gym and spa, TMZ reported. The house, called The Brody House, is on 2.3 acres and includes nine and a half bathrooms, a pool, pool house and tennis court, the website said. The main house is 13,511 square feet. DeGeneres recently sold her nearby home for $21 million after paying $17.4 million for it the year before.
