Britain's BBC network has apologized for getting a name wrong in a joke made on-air, but said it isn't sorry the quip insinuated Prince Harry uses cocaine. The broadcaster sent a written apology to Kensington Palace after officials criticized it for a joke made on its satirical current affairs show, "Have I Got News For You," The Daily Telegraph reported. Guest host Jo Brand was talking about the christening of Prince Harry's nephew, George, on an episode last week when she said: "George's godparents include Hugh van Cutsem ... I presume that's a nickname as in Hugh van cuts 'em and Harry then snorts 'em." The BBC apologized for the "factual inaccuracy" since the late Hugh van Cutsem was not one of the baby's godparents; his son, William, was. "We apologize for the factual inaccuracy in Friday's program and have edited iPlayer and future repeats accordingly," the BBC said in a statement. However, the broadcaster did not apologize for the "tongue-in-cheek comment" itself because it is part of the show's "irreverent humor," The Telegraph quoted the BBC as saying. Although Prince Harry is known for his hard-partying ways, there is no evidence he uses cocaine, the newspaper said.
