Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev believes that the volume of the aviation market in Russia may exceed one trillion rubles. The Prime Minister has made a statement at a plenary session of the International Aviation Congress on Tuesday. “In the previous year the revenues of aircraft builders reached about one trillion rubles,” he noted. “It is absolutely obvious and it is shown by all forecasts that despite different problems and crises the volume of this market will keep growing,” Medvedev stated. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister noted that the growth rate cannot be considered rapid. “The production volume has doubled for the last ten years. On the one side, it sounds good, but, on the other side, we are not satisfied with these figures,” the prime minister noted. In his view, Russian promising developments, which are put on display at MAKS International Aviation and Space Salon, will also promote the growth of the aviation market. Medvedev noted that a business model of the passenger airliner Sukhoi Superjet-100, the upgraded airliner Tu-204SM and a fighter of the fifth generation (a promising aviation complex of the frontline aviation – ed.) will be demonstrated at the aerospace show for the first time. Medvedev expressed hopes that Russian aircraft builders will succeed drawing the interests of their partners. “I also hope that major contracts will be concluded at MAKS aerospace show,” Medvedev said, noting that he is aware about preliminarily reached agreements.
