UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday called upon leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) largest economies in the world to be united in overcoming the economic crisis as they are to meet in a summit next week in France on the contagious sovereign debt crisis across Europe, which is shattering market confidence in a world of fragile recovery. Ban, in an interview with the UN-based Chinese media, said, "My message to G20 leaders is that they should be united to overcome this crisis, they should never lose sight of plights of many developing countries. They should beyond this immediate horizon, ( and) look for global economic development."
