Ukraine's economy stagnated last year, marking the end of three years of growth, according to figures released by the State Statistics Service on Thursday. In 2013, Ukraine's nominal gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 180.7 billion U.S. dollars, the statistical committee said in a report. Ukraine's GDP shrank 1.3 percent year on year in July-September 2013, after contracting 1.1 percent and 1.3 percent in the first and second quarters, respectively, said the report. However, the weak economic performance in the first nine months was offset by 3.7-percent growth in the fourth quarter, it said. In 2012, Ukraine's GDP grew 0.2 percent, the lowest rate since 2009, when the economy contracted by 15.1 percent. Ukraine's GDP rose 5.2 percent in 2011 and 4.2 percent in 2010. The government expects the economy to grow 3 percent this year..
