Turkey's Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) plans to cooperate with more countries in combating money laundering and finance of terrorism. MASAK has signed cooperation agreements with 25 countries so far to fight against money laundering, finance of terrorism and related crimes, Turkish media reported . Also, MASAK has launched initiatives to cooperate with the United States against money laundering. According to forecasts of the United Nations, money laundering in the world amounts to 1.5 trillion USD a year. However, the International Monetary Fund says money laundering is equal to 2-5 percent of global national income, which is a figure between 1 and 2.5 trillion USD.
