Turkey earns $1.73bn from hazelnut exports in 2013

Turkey, the world's biggest hazelnut supplier, has earned $1.73 billion from hazelnut exports in 2013, Istanbul Hazelnut and Products Exporters Association announced on Wednesday. Turkey shipped more than 276,000 tons of hazelnuts to almost 110 countries in 2013, the association said in a written statement. The EU constitutes the biggest share in Turkey's hazelnut export. Turkey had exported 265,000 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of $1.8 billion in 2012.
