Tokyo to host G7 in October

Group of Seven finance ministers and central bank governors are expected to meet in Tokyo next month to discuss the European debt crisis and other issues, Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) reported Saturday. G7 countries are now setting up the meeting in the Japanese capital on October 11th. The meeting is to coincide with annual conferences of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Tokyo. G7 officials are expected to exchange views on the deteriorating state of the world economy. European credit uncertainties have adversely affected the economies of emerging countries, such as China. G7 officials are likely to assess measures adopted by European countries to resolve the debt crisis. They are also expected to look into progress made by heavily indebted countries in rebuilding their finances. The G7 is expected to urge European countries to do more to prevent the debt crisis from spreading further and affecting the global economy.
