Spainish debt '66% of GDP in third quarter'

Spain had public debt equivalent to 66.0 percent of national output in the third quarter of the year, up from 58.7 percent at the same time in 2010, the central bank said on Friday. This puts Spanish debt 6.0 percentage points above the 60.0-percent ceiling permitted under the EU's Stability and Growth Pact, but the figure is 20 points below the European Union average of 85.1 percent for the whole of last year.
