
The number of cars manufactured in November in Spain reached 2.02 million units, the Association of Car Manufacturers (ANFAC) reported on Wednesday. According to ANFAC, production of cars increased by 9.02 percent in the first eleven months of the year to 2.02 million units, up from 1.98 million in 2012. In November alone, the automotive sector manufactured 196,926 cars, a 6.36 percent increase year on year. Plan PIVE, an state aid program which aims at boosting this industry by providing prospective buyers 2,000 euros for purchases of a new and more ecological car, is a major contributor to the increases in car production. The automotive sector has always recognized and praised the Plan PIVE as it helped boost the sector in times of economic crisis, and have called on the government to further extend the program.
