South Korea's electricity consumption to nearly double by 2035

The government said Tuesday it will use price hikes and other various measures to help rein in the growth of the country's electricity consumption. The country's total electricity consumption is expected to nearly double from 39.1 million tons of oil equivalents (TOEs) in 2011 to 70.2 million TOEs in 2035, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
