South Korea overtakes Japan in global market share for semiconductors

South Korea is believed to have overtaken Japan in terms of global market share for semiconductors last year, the government said Monday. The combined output of South Korean manufacturers of semiconductors is estimated to have surged 16 percent from a year earlier to about US$50.06 billion in 2013, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
